It is best known for introducing Surrealism to the American public.
View featured cover designs by renowned artists with the highly stylised typography of Tyler along with their art. It attracted contributions from artists like Fernand Léger, Georgia O’Keeffe, Man Ray, Alexander Calder, Isamu Noguchi, John Tunnard and René Magritte.
In celebration of its legacy, we’ve extended an invitation to nineteen artists, to create their own interpretations of the iconic View cover: Nel Aerts, Richard Aldrich w/ Michael Callies, Juliette Blightman, Keren Cytter, Genoveva Filipovic, Christian Flamm, Sanya Kantarovsky, Allison Katz, Georgia Küng, Sophie Nys, Joanne Robertson, Katja Seib, Monika Stricker, Emily Sundblad, Megan Francis Sullivan, Karel Thienpont, Michael Van den Abeele, Peter Wächtler, and Anna Zacharoff.
All covers have the dimensions of the original cover of the magazine, 30,5 x 23 cm (12 x 9,06 in).
